What It Looks Like: Master Coding Videos for Observer Training and Assessment — Report
This research report describes how to recruit, train, and organize a group of master coders to align video of classroom instruction with the components of an observation rubric to support observer training and assessment.
This ongoing series of publications by MET project partners can help states, districts, and technical assistance providers in building and improving a classroom observation system that supports better teaching and student learning.
From 2007 to 2014, Cambridge Education implemented Tripod surveys through its partnership with Dr. Ronald F. Ferguson of Harvard University. Dr. Ferguson and Rob Ramsdell were the professional leads for the survey portion of the MET project and Cambridge Education managed all data collection related to the Tripod survey.
Research shows that teachers learn best from each other, and that a school leadership model that leverages teacher leadership can positively impact instruction. Why not turn to teachers to help lead in the area they know best?
