Appreciating teachers by supporting teachers

What happens when teachers trade isolation for collaboration? Teachers in Colorado and Kentucky wanted to find out so they created the Common Assignment Study (CAS) to show the positive impact of teachers working across district and state lines to better serve students.

It was the workshop that changed my personal and professional life forever.  It was that “a-ha” moment that all teachers (and people) wish for, and while it was four years ago, I remember it like yesterday.  

Our CEO, Sue Desmond-Hellmann released her first annual letter highlighting some of the lessons she’s learned, including lessons from our education work. And here’s one example of how important it is for teachers to be engaged in the process of helping students reach high standards, because as Sue notes, “deep and deliberate engagement is essential to success.”
