Learning About Teaching: Initial Findings from the Measures of Effective Teaching Project — Report

With the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Measures of Effective Teaching (MET) project was created to develop and test multiple measures of teacher effectiveness. This research report identifies and discusses the MET project's initial findings, including that a teacher's previous success in increasing student achievement was the strongest predictor of being able to replicate student success and that these same teachers are also more likely to teach students math concepts and demonstrate reading comprehension through writing.
