Webinar: How we know what works in pre-K

Join the Gates Foundation for a rich conversation on what the research—and real-world educator experiences—can teach us about the future of video-based classroom observations in pre-K. Together, we’ll unpack findings from SRI’s Early Childhood Classroom Observation (ECCO) study, hear from pre-K leaders and educators who’ve piloted video coaching, and spark new ideas for improving professional learning for teachers.

Whether you're curious, skeptical, or already experimenting with video coaching in your own setting, this session will offer insights, stories, and practical tools you can take back to your team.

Here’s what we’ll cover during the webinar:

🔍 Learn what the ECCO study found: SRI’s Todd Grindal and Anne Partika will share what they discovered about the promise—and the limits—of using video to support teachers in pre-K classrooms.

🎙️ Hear from the field: Educators and system leaders from across the country will reflect on how they’ve used video-based coaching, what surprised them, and what made it work (or not).

💡 Start your own conversation: You’ll receive a downloadable discussion guide to use with your colleagues, so you can explore what role video coaching might play in your own PD or coaching system.

We look forward to learning with you and exploring how video-based coaching can help us better support the teachers who are shaping our youngest learners’ futures.
