Continued Progress: Promising Evidence on Personalized Learning — Report
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has engaged RAND to carry out an ongoing study of Foundation-funded schools that are utilizing key aspects of personalized learning. This report is the second in a series focused on gathering achievement data, school design characteristics, and teacher and student perceptions of personalized learning practices.
Far too many students don't have access to a high-quality education. This is particularly true for low-income students and students of color, roughly half of today's student population.
People don’t usually look to places like Lindsay, California to find examples of extraordinary education. But extraordinary things are happening in this small town in the Central Valley. The students, almost all from low-income families and more than half English language learners, are engaged in their learning and taking ownership of their futures.
Heading into a new school year, I’m feeling refreshed, energized, and excited to take on new challenges. I have many things on my mind. But mostly I’m eager to see how my learners grow and make progress.
