The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine hosted a hybrid public information-gathering session to inform the work of the Committee on A New Vision for High Quality Pre-K Curriculum. Sessions explored the role of language and culture in innovative pre-K curriculum development, with special consideration of the components and features that support learning for culturally and linguistically diverse learners. The discussion also focused on dual-language learners and the intersection of early childhood special education and equity issues and future considerations for designing and adapting curriculum for children with diverse abilities.
