The National Council on Teacher Quality (NCTQ) is a research and policy group whose efforts to modernize the teacher profession are driven by the belief that all children deserve effective teachers. NCTQ’s work is focused on changes in practice and policy of teacher preparation programs, school districts, state governments and teachers unions.
NCTQ’s Teacher Contract Database houses information on teacher policies in nearly all of the largest 100 districts in the country plus the largest district in each state. Users can learn more about a teacher’s life in those districts, from salaries and benefits to evaluation policies, length of school day and year and many other topics. For example, the graph below is data from a custom report on how many days students are in school.
The database is especially useful for district staff, researchers and others working in the field. Learn more.
